Holiday Stocking Card Using Sign Language Stamps

Holiday Stocking Card Using Sign Language Stamps is what we have for you today. I am always looking for multiple uses for the dies that I have. We invest a lot of money in our crafting tools and I like to think of multiple ways to use them. That is what we are going to do today! Are you ready? Let’s get started!

Here is the creation we are going to make! It is perfect for gift cards for the holidays!

Supplies Needed for the Holiday Stocking Card Using Sign Language Stamps Project

A Creative Journey with Melissa Sign Language Alphabet stamp set

Acrylic Block

Scissors

Black Ink

Paper for Card

Paper for embellishments for stocking

Stocking Die

Glue dot for gift card

Trim for stocking

Adhesive

Here is a close up of the stocking die I used.

Take out your stocking die, paper, platforms and manual die cut machine. Place your paper on top of the die where you need the white pieces cut. Place your die on top of the clear platform and then place the clear platform on top of the die so it is sandwiched between the two clear platforms.

Here are the pieces that the die cut out for me for the Holiday Stocking Card Using Sign Language Stamps Project.

Take your colored 6″ x 12″ piece of paper out.

Fold your colored paper in half.

Be sure the fold line is BELOW the top of the stocking. This is how you will make it a card!

Using the same sandwich as you did for the embellishment pieces for the stocking, run your die with the folded part BELOW the line where the die will cut. Run your die cut through your machine.

You did it! This is how you create the stocking card for your Holiday Stocking Card Using Sign Language Stamps Project!

This is a close up of the die. I placed my fold approximately 1/4 inch below the cut line for the stocking. Above is the picture is an exaggeration of how much space it was. I just wanted to be sure you were clear which line you were to be sure you placed the fold under for your creation.

Take out your ink and the top of your stocking. Peel off the appropriate letters from your A Creative Journey with Melissa sign language stamp set.

Place the first letter on the block.

Ink your stamp

Stamp your letter on the top of the stocking. Repeat to spell out the word you wish to have.

Take out your trim. Place adhesive on the bottom edge of the stocking top. Adhere the trim to the stocking top. Trim off any excess.

Here on the left I put the letters rounded so they followed the trim. On the right I did them straight. Which do you like better?

Place adhesive on the back of the stocking heel and toe pieces. Adhere them to the front of your stocking card.

Take out your stocking top with the trim.

Adhere the stocking top to the front of the stocking card.

You did it! You completed your Holiday Stocking Card Using Sign Language Stamps Project!

I used the A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee, Tea and Wine – OH MY! , A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee is my Liquid Therapy stamp set and the A Creative Journey with Melissa Sign Language Alphabet stamp sets on my projects.

My style is Cute, Clean and SIMPLE. I like to create things that look cute but I LOVE spending time with my family. I try to create things that can be done expeditiously and often times in mass quantities. The easier, the better!

When I created these projects, I had small gifts in mind for teachers, friends, neighbors or anyone that you would like to show them you care by giving them a handmade gift but also fits in my budget.

This cute little gift holder works perfect for Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate or any little gift you would like to dress up. I used our A Creative Journey with Melissa Sign Language Alphabet tp create the letters for this creation. I love how adding sign language to a creation really brings me joy! My brother and both of my paternal grandparents are/were deaf. Such a BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE!

Do you want to see how this is made? Be sure to come back on Monday for my #MondayswithMelissa and you will see how I made this creation step by step. This adorable creation has a surprise as well! I used the cup and tea bag label from the A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee, Tea and Wine – OH MY! stamp set.  I used the heart for the tea bag label from the A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee is my Liquid Therapy stamp set.

I used the ribbon as a pulley. This pulls the tea bag out for use! Cute, simple and fast, right?! Just the way I like my crafts and I hope you do too!

Father’s Day Coffee Card

Father’s Day Coffee Card is what we have for you today. If you are here for the 2018 Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop be sure to click HERE to get to the first post however, be sure you read this one too because we have more prizes here.

I wanted to create something for the 2018 Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and so I tried to think outside of the box and create this Father’s Day Coffee Card. I used four different stamp sets and I love how it came out!

The stamp sets I used were the A Creative Journey with Melissa Photo Booth Fun Stamp Set, the A Creative Journey with Melissa Sign Language Alphabet Stamp Set, the A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee, Tea and Wine – OH MY! Stamp set and the A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee is my Liquid Therapy Stamp Set.

Supplies Needed for the Father’s Day Coffee Card

A Creative Journey with Melissa Photo Booth Fun Stamp Set

Our A Creative Journey with Melissa Sign Language Alphabet Stamp Set

A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee, Tea and Wine – OH MY! Stamp set

A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee is my Liquid Therapy Stamp Set.

Stamp Block

Card Base

Card Mat

Decorative Sentiment mat

Solid sentiment mat

Paper to stamp sentiment on

White twine

Scissors

Adhesive

Ink

Manual die cut machine

Embossing folder

Chameleon Pens

First, take out your manual die cut machine, embossing folder and solid color mat for your card base. Place your paper in your embossing folder.

Run your embossing folder through the machine.

How awesome is the texture on this paper, right?

Pace adhesive on the back of the paper and adhere to the card base. Set it aside.

Take out your paper to stamp your sentiment on, block, ink and the coffee cup from the Coffee is my Liquid Therapy set as shown. Place your stamp on your block and ink it. Stamp your coffee cup on your paper.

Take out your Sign Language Alphabet Stamp set and stamp DAD inside your coffee cup.

NOTE: I decided to use the sign language alphabet stamp set for the video instead of the Everyday Uppercase and Emoticon stamp set as used in above picture. They both work great but I wanted to show something different to encourage your creativity!!

Take out your Photo Booth Fun Stamp set and take out the hat. Ink the hat and stamp it on your sentiments paper as shown above.

NOTE: If you want a little different texture on the hat, swipe your stamp across your ink pad and it will give it this look. Pretty cool, huh?

This is the close up of the stamped images.

Take out your Coffee, Tea and Wine – OH MY! Stamp set. Take out the sentiment needed and place it on your block. Ink your sentiment and stamp it on your paper.

Apply adhesive to the back of the patterned paper.

Adhere patterned paper to the card base of the Father’s Day Coffee Card.

Place adhesive on the back of the sentiment paper ad adhere to the blue mat.

Take out your white twine and wrap the bottom on your paper three times and then tie a knot.

Trim the excess twine.

Take out your chameleon pens and color your coffee cup and sign language letters.

Apply adhesive to the back of the sentiment paper and apply to the card base.

Here are both versions of the Father’s Day Coffee Card. I like them both!

For our giveaway we will be giving away a $15.00 store credit! That way you can decide exactly what you want!

Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder

Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder is what we have for you today. I love to reuse packaging for my crafts. This is a tutorial on how to do just that!

Supplies Needed for the Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder Project

A Creative Journey with Melissa Snowflake Beauty Stamp Set

Acrylic Stamp Block

1.25″ Circle Punch

Sizzix Die # 660281 Box and Card Die

Sizzix or manual die cut machine

Scissors

Paper to stamp image on

Green Ink

.75″ x 12″ strip of patterned paper

Tim Holtz Coffee Cup Embossing Folder

Red Tape – Strong adhesive for the packaging

Adhesive for adhering paper to the box

IF YOU ARE HERE FOR THE 2017 WINTER COFFEE LOVERS BLOG HOP PLEASE CLICK HERE. You are of course welcome to check this post out too and enter to win the prize on this post as well! If you aren’t.. Be sure to check it out as you can see lots of coffee project inspiration as well as win a number of prizes from some great sponsors!

To begin the Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder project, Take out your paper to stamp on, your acrylic block and your A Creative Journey with Melissa Snowflake Beauty Stamp Set.

Adhere your stamp to your acrylic block. Take out your green ink.

Stamp your snowflake onto your paper. I made a few extra so I can have them on hand in case I need to create an extra card.

Punch your snowflake images out with your circle punch.

This is a die inside it’s clear plastic packaging. When I get dies like this, I take them out of their packaging and cut the parts of the packaging that could be used in a die cut machine at a later time and set them aside. You would be amazed at how many times I have used them on my projects.

If you haven’t heard of this before, search in the box above or click on the menu for the icon and search for packaging and you will  find a few tutorials for some other ideas.

Here is a piece from a longer die that I have kept. This is what we are going to use to die cut our Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder Project. Sometimes you may have some blemishes on the packaging. You can solve that issue by embossing it!

Take out your manual die cut machine, two clear platforms and your die. Place a clear platform down on the base of the die cut machine. You will then place your die, clear recycled sheet of packaging and then your second clear platform. Using the handle, run your packaging through the die cut machine.

This is what it will look like once you have done that.

Take out your coffee cup embossing folder, regular platform, two clear platforms and your die cut machine. You can emboss just one side of your box like shown or you can do the entire box by folding your clear sheet in half and placing it in the folder.

This is what it looks like once it has been embossed!

Fold your box where all of the creases are from the die cut.

Take out your red tape or other strong adhesive.

Cut two pieces and adhere the two pieces of adhesive to the side of the box.

Remove the red protective piece revealing the adhesive.

Press firmly on the side of the box to the adhesive side ensuring its adhesion creating the box. You may lightly see some of the adhesive. If you do not care for that look, you can place paper on the outside of the box to cover it if you think it is too obvious. I personally thought it looked fine.

This is the die cut and embossed box before it has been put together completely and decorated.

Take out your strip of paper.

Using the gift card holder, measure how large of a piece you will need to wrap it around so it overlaps a little bit.

Trim excess paper off of your creation.

Apply adhesive to the back of the decorative paper.

Wrap your paper around the box ensuring the paper has adhered to the gift card holder.

Take out your stamped image, 3-D foam piece and box. Remove the adhesive back to the foam piece.

Place the foam piece on the back of the stamped image. Place the stamped image on the Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder Project.

Your Quick and Easy! Coffee Cup Embossed Recycled Packaging Gift Card Holder Project is complete!

2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Welcome to the 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

If you happened to come by here by chance, WE ARE SO HONORED and thrilled that you did!! We are taking part in the AWESOME 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! The hashtag is #winter2017clh and we are showcasing our love for Winter & COFFEE!! I LOVE Winter, the holidays and of course the cool crisp air.

I know this may sound crazy but I REALLY MISS SNOW AND COLD WEATHER. SERIOUSLY!

Being from Chicago I miss the REAL winter weather but now I live in California where I am still wearing shorts in December. Unfortunately, we were within a few miles of the #RyeFire you may have seen on TV which is very close to Magic Mountain. We are very fortunate that we are doing OK. Unfortunately, the winds are horrible until possibly as late as Saturday. Crossing fingers we stay OK. Now, are you ready for some cool stuff and giveaways? Let’s go!

Whether your drink of choice is hot chocolate, coffee, tea, or even a blended drink (which is what I ALWAYS prefer); you are going to really enjoy the 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

There are a number of companies participating and we are really honored and excited to be one of the SUPER SPONSORS & FLASH PRIZE SPONSOR for this amazing blog hop! We also have our own giveaways right here on our blog! Be sure to read the WHOLE POST for the details!

The 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop runs Friday, December 8th starting at 6:00 AM Pacific Time thru Friday, December 15th. This allows you PLENTY of time to participate by hopping, creating or BOTH!

The group is SUPER fun with awesome creativity and inspiration throughout the year and of course.. GREAT SEASONAL HOPS with WONDERFUL COFFEE inspiration! We would hate for you to miss out om the inspiration and possibilities!!

Now, onto the projects we have for you today! The theme is Winter and of course… COFFEE!

I’m not sure why but I have REALLY been getting into creating gift card holders. I have a number of them to give as gifts this year for the holidays and I thought I would share what I have created and various ways I do it.  We have a weekly YouTube video and Blog Post on Mondays. Ironic it is called #MondayswithMelissa.. maybe a bit too obvious? LOL At any rate, you will find a whole bunch of cool stuff, giveaways, tutorials and even recipes once a week so make sure you subscribe to both!

For my first creation and giveaway I used the A Creative Journey with Melissa You’re Snow Wonderful Stamp Set  and

For my second creation and giveaway we have the

A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee, Tea and Wine – OH MY! Stamp Set.

If you aren’t familiar with my style it is pretty simple…. clean and SIMPLE – CAS. I like to have things that look nice but I personally am not one for a bunch of different layers and designs.

For me it is too chaotic for my ADHD so I tend to design and gravitate to clean and simple.

This creation can easily be made with scraps of your favorite holiday paper as it is not a card it is made with a paper base and holder for the gift card. Simple, clean and bright! MY FAVORITE! Can you tell what kind of gift card is in this?

For this creation, I created another gift card holder. The first creation I wanted to show you was the plainer creation of the two.

It is really amazing how just two changes and one extra step can make that much of a difference in a creation.

I used a little bit of trim, read decorative paper, cream paper for the lid, craft paper card folded and corner rounded, coffee cup, lid and sleeve die, decorative paper and the sentiments are from the A Creative Journey with Melissa You’re Snow Wonderful Stamp Set. I love how versatile the stamp set is and how cute the images are as well! You can create an entire Snow Family including Mom, Dad, birds, dogs, cats and of course KIDS!

Here is the SAME EXACT CARD. The only three differences are the green decorative paper, the smaller coffee cup die and I embossed the card base with a coffee bean embossing folder. THAT IS IT! Now for you to really see the difference.. I want to show them to you side by side…

Again, clean and simple with a little pop, right? Cute, Clean and SIMPLE!

Now for the fun stuff.. We have some giveaways for this blog hop and EVERY MONDAY we give something away!!

For all of our giveaways including this one, in order for you to qualify for an entry to win, you would need to be a follower on YouTube, subscribe to our mailing list/blog posts (found on our blog page) and you may also comment on this blog post for an additional entry to win! Take out your Chameleon Pens RD4 and BL6. Using the BL6 color in the puzzle piece in your image.

Using your RD4 Chameleon Pen, color in the cape on the image.

This is what your image will look like once it has been colored in.

You will now be cutting out the front of the card where you will be creating your slider. Take out your white piece of paper and manual die cutting machine for the for the front of the card.

Place your base platform, clear platform, paper and die on the die cut machine.

Be sure to center your die where you want it on the card so that it cuts properly.

Place your clear platform on top of the paper and die.

Take out your stamp sentiment, ink and stamp block. Stamp the sentiment as shown above.

This is what it will look like once you have done this. You don’t have to do it exactly as I have, this is just for a reference for placement. It’s your creation so make it your own!

Take out your circular pop dot. Be sure that it fits in the channel for your slider card. If not, be sure to trim it down and round the edges. This will help with the flow of the slider card.

Place your pop dot on your penny as shown above.

Take your other penny and place it on the top of the penny like a sandwich with the pop dot in between both pennies.

Put adhesive on the back of the colored image. Place the colored image on the back of the penny.

This is what it will look like once you have done this.

Carefully place one side of the penny on one side of the channel as shown.

Place the other half of the side under the other side of the paper like shown.

Moving your card left to right, watch your image flow across your card. If you are having issues with it. Guide your image back and forth a few times in the channel to ensure it’s ease of movement.

This is what your You’re my Superhero Autism Awareness Project will look once it is done!

Supplies Needed for the Coffee Spinner Slider Card

A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee is my Liquid Therapy Stamp Set

Manual Die Cut Machine

Adhesive

3-d Foam Squares and small dots

Paper to stamp sentiment on

Twine

Two pennies or washers

Ink

Stamp Block

Scissors

Punch

Jelly Roll Clear Star Pen

Rhinestones

Glitter Pen

141820 Big Shot Framelits Sliding Star Die Set *

Patterned Paper

Card Base

*If you are interested in purchasing the Stampin Up Sliding Star Die set to create this Coffee Spinner Slider Card, please go to Brandie’s Website HERE and I KNOW she will take very good care of you!

For the spinner card, you will need to take out your Stampin Up Sliding Star Framelits Die Set.

Using the circle die as shown above in the set, be sure that the cutting part of the die is face down on the paper.

Put the cutting part of the die face down and centered where you would like it on your paper.

Place your paper and die on your platform and clear platform where you would like it cut.

Once you are ready to cut it, place the second clear platform on top of the die.

Run your die through your manual die cut machine.

Here are the parts you keep to use for your Coffee Spinner Slider Card. Take out your card base as well.

You will need thin foam strips and foam squares for the next part to put your card together.

This is how I placed my foam squares and strips. It is important to place the thin foam strips on the top of the circle and the sides so the item that is spinning doesn’t get stuck on the adhesive strip.

Adhere the die cut patterned paper on top of your card base.

Cut one of your foam squares in half.

Place two foam squares and two halves on the back of the circle from die that was cut from your patterned paper.

Make sure the foam squares will NOT be int he way of your spinner or else it will get hung up and not spin properly.

You will place the circle in the center of the cut out circle on your card base.

BE SURE IT IS CENTERED or else it will not spin properly.

It is MUCH EASIER if you use a patterned paper for this part as you can line it up to ensure it is centered.

Take out your SMALL foam dots. I did try the larger foam dots. They did not work. They got hung up in the track for the spinner and it was not flowing properly. These foam dots work PERFECTLY so I am sticking with the smaller ones.

Place your foam circles in the middle of your penny or washer. These foam dots were thin so I stacked three together.

They aren’t exactly perfectly lined up but it still works perfectly!

Take your other penny and squish it so it is like a sandwich so it looks like a penny sandwich with your dots inside.

This is what it will look like once it is stuck together.

Now you are going to take  your card base and place your penny sandwich with one side of the penny under the patterned card base and one side of the penny on top of the card base.

This is what it will look like once you have put the one side under the card base.

Now you will take the right side of the penny and inside circle and gently place it inside the penny sandwich as shown.

This will allow you to have the item around the circle spin. Move your card around to be sure that the spinner is working. If it doesn’t work check to be sure both sides are even, your foam dot isn’t too large and the penny’s are both centered. You should be good to go!

Stamp the image you want to place on your spinner. This image stamped out and had cut it out with my Brother Scan and Cut 2. HOW COOL IS THAT? I will be showing you how to use it in future posts.

Since I didn’t need to fussy cut my image, I just took out my Chameleon Pen and colored my image.

I placed adhesive on the back of my image.

You will then want to adhere your image to your penny so that your image will be the spinning part of your project.

Next, take out your A Creative Journey with Melissa Coffee is my Liquid Therapy Stamp Set.

You will also need your stamp block, ink and paper to stamp sentiment on out. Stamp your sentiment.

Punch out your sentiment.

Using your twine, wrap your sentiment and tie it in a knot.

Cut off your excess twine.

Take out your rhinestones and place one on either side of your sentiment as shown.

Take out your Jelly Roll Clear Star pen.

Using your Jelly Roll Clear Star pen, outline your coffee cup stamped image to give it a little bling.

Using the pen gives a subtle glimmer effect to your image.

Place foam squares or dots on the back of your sentiment to give a 3-D effect.

Adhere your sentiment to your card.

Your card creation is COMPLETE! YOU DID IT!!

Coloring 3D Embellishments by using Chameleon Pens on Mod Melts

Coloring 3D Embellishments by using Mod Melts and Chameleon Pens is what we have for you today. I love to color and create. Coloring my own embellishments are a plus. How can you go wrong with creating it yourself and saving money! If you missed our blog post and YouTube video on how to create the mod melts, please check it out here.

What you will need for Coloring 3D Embellishments by using Chameleon Pens on Mod Melts:

Chameleon Pens

Mod Melt Creations

Scissors

This is a creation I made in my previous video. Once you have created your mod melt, you will want to wait until it has cooled.

Once it has cooled, you can remove your mod melt from the mold. It comes out very easily as the mod melt mold is made of silicone.

Once you have taken out the mod melt creation, you may want to trim the excess areas if you have them. This will give your creation a cleaner look.

Here are some samples of what you can use for Coloring 3D Embellishments by using Mod Melts and Chameleon Pens.

I colored these tree mod melts with Chameleon Pens. I love how they came out!

Here I colored the flower and slowly graduated the color to make it look like a daisy.

To start Coloring 3D Embellishments by using Mod Melts and Chameleon Pens, I am going to color the reindeer’s body with the Chameleon Pen BR5.

Here is the close up of the colored reindeer. When coloring, be sure you color the edges too so that it gives a clean completed look.

Now, I take out my RD4 Chamelon Pen so I can color the nose of the reindeer to look like Rudolph.

Take out the GR3 Chameleon Pen and color the bow on the reindeer. I love the bright green color next to the brown.

Next, I took out my Chameleon BK5 Pen. I outlined the eyes of the reindeer.

Following the outlining of the eyes, I used the NU1 Chameleon Pen to color the tail of the reindeer.

This is the reindeer close up shot of it colored.

Here are both of the reindeers that I colored. One I colored a little bit darker than the other. I like how they both came out.

This week for our Giveaway, we are keeping with the holiday season and giving away our You’re Snow Wonderful ACJwM Stamp Set

NOTE: If you are subscribed with two different names and I am unable to match you with your subscription to both the blog and the YouTube Channel, you will be ineligible to win as I can’t decipher if you are a matching subscriber to both. DO NOT COMMENT WITH YOUR ENTIRE EMAIL ADDY you subscribed with as I don’t want you to get spam or have your comment go to spam. Just enough for me to match you will work perfectly.
