Save Money Create Custom Ribbon

Save Money Create Custom Ribbon is what we have for you today. Do you ever want to have a specific color of ribbon for a project and don’t know what to do? NOW you have your answer! It is super easy and you can do multiple ribbons at a time so you can have some on hand!

Supplies Needed for the Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project

Adirondack Ink

Protected Work Surface

Rubber Bands

Rayon Ribbon

Alcohol and Paper Towels or the like for clean up

This is just one example of what you can create with the Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project!

Are you ready to get creative? LET’S GET STARTED!

Take your ribbon and fold it in whatever way you wish. I folded mine back and forth over itself so i had a stack of ribbon approximately 3 inches wide. Depending on how you fold it will depend on how the color creation turns out on your Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project.

Take your rubber band and wrap it around your ribbon. Remember any place your rubber band is will have little or no color.

This is a close up of what I did when I wrapped my rubber bands around the ribbon.

Start your Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project by adding the first color to your ribbon. I used aqua for my first color.

Here I added my second color Red Pepper.

For my third color, I added Sandal.

If you have any mess at any time while you are creating your Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project, don’t forget your alcohol!

The alcohol takes any of your ink mess away in seconds!

Now we are going to re-create this beautiful custom ribbon for our Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project.

The three inks I used to create this ribbon were the raspberry, wild plum and purple twilight Tim Holtz Adirondack ink.

Add the ink in various places to create your design.

The more you add the darker or more colorful your Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project will be.

Once you have finished adding the ink, you will want to set it aside to dry. As you can see, the newly inked ribbon on the left is darker than the dried one on the right. Once it dries, the colors will be similar to the right side.

This is what it looks like when it has dried and comparing both the dried one and the newly inked one after 10 or so minutes. Crazy how just a little drying time changes it, right?

Here I had created ribbon using military colors. I went a little bit darker than I would have liked but it still came out pretty cool. What do you think?

When I moved the ribbon, I saw this beautiful color! What a perfect time to grab another piece of ribbon and take advantage of the situation and create more!

The ink on the table just screamed to me that it needed ribbon to clean it up!

I also added some additional color to make the ribbon a little less dark for my military creation. I love the colors!

Here the rubber band ribbon creation has had a little time to dry. I am going to take out the rubber band.

This is what it looked like once I took off the rubber band.

Here are the various color creations I made for the Save Money Create Custom Ribbon Project! The possibilities are endless!
