In this video, you will see how to die cut, stamp and construct an adorable birthday card with a little twine too! I have a wonderful friend Deanna that has really been put through the ringer lately. She doesn’t need anything else to happen so I thought I would send her some love with this birthday card. Here are the supplies you will need:
Cascading Hearts Die by Spellbinders
Card Base
Paper for Die Cut Design
Mat for the Back of the Die Cut Design and Label for Sentiment
White twine
Ink
Manual Die Cut Machine and platforms
Adhesive
Scissors
Foam Squares
For your birthday card, you will need to take out the paper for your project, your manual die cut machine, platforms, and die.
Starting from the bottom up, place your platform (magnetic or the non-magnetic that came with your machine), clear platform, and decorative paper.
Then place your die on top of the decorative paper (inside has design and outside for border cut) and then the clear platform to create your “die cut sandwich”. Run your die cut “sandwich” through your manual die cut machine.
Carefully remove your decorative die cut paper from the die.
Punch out any pieces that have not come off when removing. You can use the spellbinders tool as shown or really anything that has a point to it – but not too sharp of a point. Even a pen cap! Set aside.
Get your solid color mat piece of paper. Repeat above steps 1-6 with your colored mat paper. To do this, you will start from the bottom up. Place your platform (magnetic or the non-magnetic that came with your machine), clear platform, and solid color mat paper. Then place your die on top of the decorative paper (outside for border cut only) and then the clear platform to create your “die cut sandwich”. Run your die cut “sandwich” through your manual die cut machine.
Remove from the sandwich. Set aside.
Punch out label for sentiment with punch. Set aside.
Take out stamps, ink and stamp block. Place sentiments on the stamp block.
Stamp birthday card sentiment on punched out label.
Wrap twine around label.
Tie a bow and trim excess twine.
Place foam squares on the back of the label. Set aside.
Place adhesive on the back of the decorative die cut paper.
Adhere decorative paper to the solid colored mat.
Adhere the mat with decorative paper to the card base.
Remove the paper from the back of the foam squares.
