Pancreatic Cancer Card & Watercolor Technique with Ink!

Today I created a Pancreatic Cancer Card & Watercolor Technique with Ink! I created this card in honor of my friend Kim. She is currently battling Pancreatic Cancer and is doing a WONDERFUL job of KICKING ITS BUTT!! Truly the epitome of courage, strength and grace. Let me give you a little background about Kim as I know her. I met her when Christian was in middle school for 6th grade. I volunteered to help with the Teacher Appreciation luncheon and she was the PTA President. She was always so sweet, kind and giving of herself and her time. There was NEVER a time where I saw her not thoroughly enjoying herself. Her heart is so full of love and she is so giving. She is so gracious, uplifting, positive and strong. I am so proud of her and her amazing strength. She has an amazing group of supportive friends including Julie. Julie goes with Kim to almost EVERY SINGLE chemo appointment she has. The beautiful friendship they have is so wonderful to see <3 Chemo can be quite boring while sitting getting treatment so to have someone with you to keep you company is amazing and makes time go by so much faster!

Unlike my previous videos, I am just showing you the technique of the watercolor with ink. I am not showing you how to put the whole card I created together. I would love to hear what you prefer. If you prefer the whole created tutorial or if you prefer to just see the technique. Below are the step by step instructions for the whole card. I will add pictures when appropriate from my video. Thanks so much for visiting and be sure to come back tomorrow! We are participating in a wonderful blog hop with LOTS of prizes and amazing inspiration! TRUST ME! You won’t want to miss this! I will be posting all about it tomorrow!!!! Now onto the watercolor technique….

Place ink from your ink pad on  your palette. Do this by just tapping the ink pad on the surface you chose to use.

place ink on palette

Take out your water brush. Test it on a paper towel or baby wipe to see how wet it is. Depending on what look you want, adjust your brush by dabbing off water or adding water from the brush. Pick up ink from your palette.

use waterbrush to get ink off of the palette

Color your image with the water color ink to your liking.

Add more ink to your palette (if needed) and color the background of your paper to your liking. Here I did more of a dry coloring whereas the example I used more water for my creation. I wanted to show you the difference in which you can use the watercolor and the different looks it can give 🙂

Here are the two different variations of my water coloring. The left side has less water used and more of a dry brush look with little water. The right side has more water used for the ribbon and the background. You can get really great looks by just adding or subtracting a little water!

Adhere your colored image to your card base that has the embossed colored paper on it. Take twine and wrap around the card and tie it in a bow. Your creation is complete!!
