Patterned Mat for card

Paper to stamp sentiment on

Scissors

Foam Squares

Twine

Paper to punch out hearts

Heart Punch

This is the SUPER EASY CARD creation we are going to make today.

This is the perfect card to bring to a corned beef and cabbage St. Patrick’s Day celebration! Wouldn’t this be perfect to bring along with a nice bottle of wine? YES!!

First, you will want to take out your heart punch as well as your paper.

Using your punch with the shape side facing you, punch out your shapes from your paper.

Cut out a stem for your four leafed clover from your paper.

Take out your A Creative Journey with Melissa’s Spring and Summer Holiday Celebrations Stamp Set, ink, Stamp Block and paper to stamp your sentiment on.

Peel off your Happy St. Patrick’s Day sentiment off of your stamp set sheet and place it on your stamp block.

Ink your Happy St. Patrick’s Day sentiment.

Stamp your sentiment on your paper in the left upper corner. This will allow you plenty of space for your four leafed clover.

Take out your adhesive and four leafed clover pieces. Place adhesive on the stem of your four leafed clover.

Put adhesive on the hearts for your four leafed clover.

Place the pieces of your four leafed clover on your sentiment paper.

This is what the four leafed clover looks like close up once the pieces have been put together.

Take out your rhinestone and place one in the middle of your four leafed clover.

Take out the ticket punch and punch the left side of your paper.

Using your ticket punch, punch your base card on the left side of the card.

Be sure to punch both the front of the card as well as the back of the card. When it is closed together it will be punched through on the right side of the card.

Place foam squares on the back of the mat for the card base and remove the protective paper.

Adhere your decorative paper on your card base for your SUPER EASY CARD.

Place your foam squares on your sentiment paper and remove the protective paper backing.

Put your sentiment paper with your four leafed clover on your card base of your SUPER EASY CARD.

Take out your white twine and wrap your twine around your SUPER EASY CARD. I wrapped it around the card three times.

Tie a bow with your twine and cut any excess twine off.

Here are the completed creations of your SUPER EASY CARD!

Military Tribute Card – 4th of July Card with Splatter Background

Today I thought I would create a Military Tribute Card. The fact is, there aren’t enough words or enough time in the world to properly give a military tribute to all of the service men, women and their families for their multitude of sacrifices. I thought since today is Memorial Day, we should take some time to honor them and thank them for their sacrifices. I also thought about our freedom and independence. Why not to create a patriotic card for 4th of July. I thought it was a good time to honor our military for Memorial Day and show you a card to celebrate Independence Day too.

No matter what type of learner you are, we have you covered. We have a video tutorial above or below is a pictorial to help those that like to learn in this way. Let’s get started!

Here are the materials you will need to create this card:

Tie Dye and Splatter Stamp Set

Spring and Summer Holiday Celebrations Stamp Set

Two different colored inks (I used Faded Jeans and Festive Berries Tim Holtz Distress Inks)

Memento Ink – Black tuxedo

Twine

Card base

Paper for sentiment

Punch

Adhesive

Scissors

Stamp Block

Supplies w text

Take out your card base, two colored inks, stamp block and stamps.

Stamp background

Ink your stamp thoroughly

inking stamp

The result will look like this with distress ink. Notice it has a worn look. This is part of the design of the ink-to give it a “distressed ink” look.

stamped background blue

Stamp your pattern on the card base and clean off your stamp. Repeat inking and stamping with secondary color. Clean off your stamp.

Repeat and clean off stamp

Take off stamp and replace it with the smaller splatter stamp. Ink with each color to create your pattern, cleaning off  the stamps when switching between colors.

Place smaller splatter stamp on block

Your background pattern will look similar to this depending on your preferences when creating. Set aside to ensure background is dry.

Inked with both colors small stamp

Take out your black ink, sentiment and paper to stamp on.

Adhere sentiment on stamp block

Stamp your sentiment on your paper.

Ink and stamp sentiment on paper

Punch out your sentiment.

punch out sentiment

Take out your twine. Wrap your twine around your punched out sentiment. I wrapped it five times.

Wrap twine around punched out sentiment

Tie your twine in a knot and cut off excess twine. Pull apart the twine to give it a frayed look.

Tie twine, cut excess and fray edges

Place adhesive on the back of the sentiment and adhere.

Apply sentiment with adhesive

Your military tribute card project is complete!

Father’s Day Card – Think Outside of the Box – Fun w Shapes

Father’s Day is coming and we as creatives we HAVE to make a Father’s Day card, right? Many of us have a bunch of supplies. Did you ever try to think outside of the box with your supplies? Thinking maybe you could use one supply to create something that you may not normally? Use a holiday paper for something different? Today I am going to show you my inspiration and how I simply used my corner rounder to achieve the same look as the inspiration die set. I also used Christmas paper that I LOVE for an awesome masculine Father’s Day card. Whether you like to learn by video (above) or pictorial (below) you are covered!!! Let’s get started!

Here are the items you will need to create this Father’s Day Card. Remember, you can mix and match options and design ideas to your liking. This is YOUR creation so make it the way YOU want to! We used our Spring and Summer Holiday Celebrations Stamp Set for the outside sentiment. Would you believe this awesomely versatile stamp set is only $7.95? Yes, it’s TRUE!

Supplies

First you need to take out your card base, sentiment mat, corner rounder and sentiment paper. Corner round the top left and bottom right of all of your papers EXCEPT for your sentiment – if you make a mistake like I did in the video, you can’t turn it over to use it; background, sentiment mat and card base. If you can’t punch your card base due to thickness, try to so that you at least have a guide with the impression left from your corner rounder so you can cut around it with your scissors.

Apply adhesive to the back of the background paper. Adhere the card background paper to the card base.

Apply Adhesive

Ink and stamp your sentiment onto your sentiment paper. Corner Round your paper once happy with your stamping. (You can do it before but when I made a mistake, I couldn’t turn it over and had to use a new piece of paper.)

Stamp Sentiment

Apply adhesive to the back of the sentiment paper. Adhere the sentiment to the sentiment mat paper.

Adhere sentiment mat to sentiment

Take out white string. Wrap string around matted sentiment (I wrapped it five times for my design.) Tie a knot and trim excess string.

Apply string and trim

Adjust string to your liking.

Adjust string

Adhere foam squares to the back of the matted sentiment.

Apply foam squares

Apply matted sentiment onto your card.

Cute & Quick Stamped Background Design Mother’s Day Card

HAPPY MONDAY! Today we are going to be creating a cute and quick stamped background design for a Mother’s Day card. I love bright colors and thought this card would be perfect for a cheery Mother’s Day card. We used the Outside and In stamp set as well as the Spring and Summer Holiday Celebrations stamp set. Both of these can be located on our website here or by clicking on the stamp set names above. Whether you like to learn by video or a pictorial, we have you covered! Let’s get started!

Here are the supplies you will need.

Supplies tagged

To begin, take out your black ink, sentiment paper, sentiment and stamp block. Place sentiment on your stamp block and ink.

stamp sentiment

Take stamped sentiment and punch out tag with tag punch. Set aside.

punch out tag

Take out background paper, three colors of ink, background stamps for design and stamp block. Stamp different shapes on the piece of paper with different colors. It is best to work in odd numbers as it makes a more even feel to the project and design.

stamp background images with diff colors

Adhere stamped background paper to the card base. I have used the paper this way and the card opens up not like a book. This is my design choice but you can do it any way you wish.

Adhere stamped background

Take out 1/8″  punch and punch a “HALF” of a hole on the top of the card at fold as shown. This punch will go through both halves of the folded card.

Punch hole in top of card

Punch out a half of a hole on the bottom of the card base. You will only be punching through the FRONT CARD BASE SIDE ONLY-NOT BOTH LIKE THE TOP HOLE- Be sure to line up the top hole with the bottom hole.

Punch Hole in bottom of card

Thread twine up through the top hole in the middle of the card, bring down the front of the card, wrap through the bottom hole and up through the hole in the middle of the card. Repeat three times.

Thread twine thru top hole

Arrange strings so they are lined up or however you wish your design to be. Tie a bow at the top of the card like shown here. Set aside.

Tie bow with twine

Take out the tag, rhinestones and QuickStik tool. Place rhinestones on Mother’s Day tag as shown here.

Apply Rhinestones

Adhere foam squares to the back of the tag, remove backing from square and place tag on the card as shown.

Place sentiment on card

Here is your creation!
