SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds

SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds is what we have for you today. Do you want a fun project to do that even kids can help with? This is it! Just in time for spring break! Make your own watercolor backgrounds and make it a family CREATIVE event! This is SUPER EASY clean up and SUPER EASY to do because your clean up is minimal and you only need a few supplies!

Supplies needed for the SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds Project

Acrylic Stamp Block or palette

Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink

Water

Paint Brush

Paper**

** I used standard 60 pound card stock. If you don’t use watercolor paper, your paper will more than likely warp. Once you have completed coloring, you can place the paper between two books and that will solve the problem of warping. This also solves the issue of using expensive watercolor paper and being able to use standard card stock on your SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds Project.

Using your paint brush, add some water to your acrylic block. You will be using your acrylic stamp block as a palette for your ink.

Take your brush and lift off some of the color from the ink pad to your block. Repeat as necessary to get the desired amount of color. You can also ink the acrylic block before adding water if you wish to add more color first then add the water. Either way will work fine. On the block it doesn’t look like there is any color but there is.

Using the water and ink, brush over your paper making fluid strokes. If you like the look of the brush strokes on your paper, use less water for that effect.

Here is the finished light background on your paper for your SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds Project.

Here are both of the finished SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds Projects. Super fast! What are you going to do with this idea? I can’t wait to hear what project you plan to use this SUPER EASY Five Minute Watercolor Backgrounds technique!
