Create a Cover with Mat Board for your Planner, Bujo and more is what we have for you today! Did you ever look for a certain size or type of book but you couldn’t find it? CREATE YOUR OWN! I will show you how to create your own cover for any book, planner, Bujo, calendar and more!! The possibilities are endless! Are you ready to get started? Let’s do this!
Supplies Needed for the Create a Cover with Mat Board for your Planner, Bujo and more Project
Front cover paper cut 1″ larger than mat board
Mat Board
Inside paper for cover cut 1/8 – 1/2″ smaller than the mat board
Scissors
Strong Adhesive
This is what we will be creating. This is the inside of the cover
.
To begin your Create a Cover with Mat Board for your Planner, Bujo and more Project take out your adhesive, mat board and your paper.
Place adhesive along the edge of the mat board. You can put the adhesive on the paper however I have found it is more effective on the mat board.
Add adhesive to the rest of the mat board. If you have any as I lovingly call them, glue boogers, be sure to take them off. Leaving them there will cause a lump and may cause issues later.
Place your mat board adhesive side down on your front cover paper.
Rub the mat board to ensure adhesion to the paper.
Using the edge of the mat board, roll it up as shown.
Here is the cover once I have folded all sides.
Cut triangles off the corner of the paper as shown.
This is what the Create a Cover with Mat Board for your Planner, Bujo and more Project look like once all of the corners have been trimmed.
Push in the corners like shown. It is like an inverted v fold. Apply adhesive on the edge.
Fold onto the adhesive. Repeat for all four sides.
Push down on the edges to ensure adhesion.
Your Create a Cover with Mat Board for your Planner, Bujo and more Project is complete! On the left we had a 1/8″ difference in the mat versus inside cover paper and on the right it was 1/2″ smaller. Which one do you like?
Have you ever tried to punch a hole into a really thick material? Like cardboard, acrylic, even metal? Your answer? THE CROP A DILE!! NO! I am not kidding! I have two of them this hand held one and one that works better for scrapbooks because it will get to the middle of a 12 x 12 paper.
The crop a dile has two different hole sizes. One is a regular size and one is a bit smaller. Above you can see the hole is on the side of the tool.
Here I have a piece of mat board and am going to pierce a hold through it. You can do this and create your own books and bindings too! You can use twine, ribbon, string, or whatever you wish!
This gives you an idea as to how thick the material is.
You can punch multiple holes in a flash!
Look how thick the hole punched mat board is!
