Have you ever done a project and couldn’t find the right color ribbon or embellishment you wanted? This is what happened to me today. Join me as I show you how to Custom Color Flowered Ribbon! It is easy and you don’t have to have expensive ribbon to do it!
Today I was going to create something for our best friends that got married yesterday. They have been together for 33 years and are now legally able to get married. We are so honored and proud to have been able to share in their wonderful day. Congrats Robin and Sher!!
Supplies Needed for the Custom Color Flowered Ribbon Project
Plastic or Glass Jar with lid
Alcohol Blending Solution or Isopropyl Alcohol
Cleanable with Alcohol Work surface or Work Mat
Here is the alcohol ink I am using to Custom Color Flowered Ribbon. I used the Chameleon Ink Refill VO4. I love the rich color of it.
Here is a close up of the flower ribbon. I love how there is a little bit of glitter on the top of the ribbon. It adds a little touch of sparkle to the ribbon.
Take your lid off your jar.
Place your ribbon in your jar.
Add your alcohol ink to Custom Color Flowered Ribbon.
Close your lid and ensure it is secure.
Shake your ribbon inside the enclosed jar. Doing this will get the ink to go all over the ribbon. Use less if you want less coverage and use more if you want more of a solid look.
Take off your lid and place your ribbon on a protected surface or work mat.
This is what the ribbon looks like once I shook it. I love the deep purple! Beautiful!
I am adding alcohol to clean my jar. You can use blending solution or isopropyl alcohol. Either one will work.
I added the alcohol to clean my jar and thought I would actually use the liquid pigment to color an other ribbon!
Add your second piece of ribbon to your jar with the remaining pigment.
Shake it up! This is what it looked like once I shook the ribbon with the excess pigment. Awesome right?!
I love that it has some areas where it is lighter than others.
For this project, I need it to be a bit more uniform so I used a little left in the jar and colored the rest of the flower. YOU DID IT! YOU Custom Color Flowered Ribbon!!
