Military Tribute Card – 4th of July Card with Splatter Background
Today I thought I would create a Military Tribute Card. The fact is, there aren’t enough words or enough time in the world to properly give a military tribute to all of the service men, women and their families for their multitude of sacrifices. I thought since today is Memorial Day, we should take some time to honor them and thank them for their sacrifices. I also thought about our freedom and independence. Why not to create a patriotic card for 4th of July. I thought it was a good time to honor our military for Memorial Day and show you a card to celebrate Independence Day too.
No matter what type of learner you are, we have you covered. We have a video tutorial above or below is a pictorial to help those that like to learn in this way. Let’s get started!
Here are the materials you will need to create this card:
Tie Dye and Splatter Stamp Set
Spring and Summer Holiday Celebrations Stamp Set
Two different colored inks (I used Faded Jeans and Festive Berries Tim Holtz Distress Inks)
Memento Ink – Black tuxedo
Twine
Card base
Paper for sentiment
Punch
Adhesive
Scissors
Take out your card base, two colored inks, stamp block and stamps.
Ink your stamp thoroughly
The result will look like this with distress ink. Notice it has a worn look. This is part of the design of the ink-to give it a “distressed ink” look.
Stamp your pattern on the card base and clean off your stamp. Repeat inking and stamping with secondary color. Clean off your stamp.
Take off stamp and replace it with the smaller splatter stamp. Ink with each color to create your pattern, cleaning off the stamps when switching between colors.
Your background pattern will look similar to this depending on your preferences when creating. Set aside to ensure background is dry.
Take out your black ink, sentiment and paper to stamp on.
Stamp your sentiment on your paper.
Punch out your sentiment.
Take out your twine. Wrap your twine around your punched out sentiment. I wrapped it five times.
Tie your twine in a knot and cut off excess twine. Pull apart the twine to give it a frayed look.
Place adhesive on the back of the sentiment and adhere.
Your military tribute card project is complete!
